NEW WORLD WAR 1 CLOTHES!

Just had to show off my newest outfit from the World War 1 era. I recently sewed the blouse from Folkwear's "Armistice Blouse" pattern and the skirt is a Butterick pattern--a 1914 skirt. The black lace overblouse is from the Folkwear pattern, "Afternoon Tea Dress." The skirt features four big buttons down near the ankle, very stylish! Sorry it doesn't show well in this picture!

Blessings, LORI

  1. How very interesting, Lori! I would love to see the detail you describe in the skirt & how it fits around the ankle....

What was your motivation in creating this outfit?

  2. I would never wear clothes like that, Mom but I do like the style in movies, etc. such as "Downton Abbey". Good job making it!

    1. Thanks for the comment! I LOVE the WW1 clothes and always have. They are my favorite style era. Rebecca, the buttons are on the hem near the ankle for style only. I wish the picture was a bit lighter to show details.
