CREEPY CRAWLIES

I saw this incredible turtle on my way home from work one evening. I stopped the car and got out to take his picture. I asked if he minded if I snapped his picture (no pun intended) and he drew his head further into his shell. Guess that means he's camera shy!

The next friend was found by my daughter. He was in our driveway and she ran over him. Upon searching we discovered him to be an Eastern Milk Snake who eats rats, mice, and other snakes. OOPS! Shouldn't have run over this useful neighbor!

Hope you enjoyed a peek at some spring wildlife here in Michigan. Blessings,  LORI

FAMILY FOOD TIMES!

Here are a few pics from our trip west. Huxley and Papa! Huxley is eating and having a great time! Isn't he a cutie?

Next is Sophie. She is in a restaurant with us. Get the idea--we eat a lot! She's a sweetheart!

Last picture is of Emma having some ice cream. Again, we eat a lot! Emma is the oldest and is so sweet!

It was such a treat to see them all again! Miss them so much! Blessings, LORI

FREE FOOD FROM THE DITCH!

Just thought I'd share a picture of spring's bounty--free from the ditch across the road! How can you beat that when the same stuff sells for $2.45/lb. in the farm markets? This is my second picking and since no one else but my Mom likes asparagus, I was all set for supper. I got one DELICIOUS serving out of this handfull of free green shoots--the second I've cut! In other years I have seen folks stop to cut this particular group, but this year I got there first! I guess I'm missing my childhood when we used to cut it where it grew wild along the railroad tracks that I spoke of in my last post! Blessings, LORI
